That third, unasked question

Richard Fernandez poses a third question regarding the Obama’s work a the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, his only significant executive experience.

But the third and unasked question the National Review should have raised is where the MSM has been in all of this. The major parties and the press are large components of the quality control process of the political system.

One wonders. I find it incredible that a major political party has nominated a presidential candidate to who:

  1. Spent the past two decades worshiping in a church that promotes fantastic, racist conspiracy theories; and
  2. Lies about the close working relationship he had on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge board of directors with an unrepentant terrorist.

Great Food at Nona Rosa’s

I had dinner last night at Nona Rosa’s Ristorante & Pizzeria (113 E. Magnolia Street) in downtown Bellingham. I had the eggplant parmigiana after a goat cheese & marinara appetizer and followed it up with a delicious cream puff dessert. Yummy! Other diners at the table had Sicilian meatballs, lasagna, and pork skewers. Everyone was impressed with their meal.

Wednesday Lunch Run

I’m getting in shape for the Bellingham Traverse. I’ll be participating on a tandem team; my portions of the race are the road run (5.5 miles), mountain bike (6 miles), and trail run (3 miles). My teammate’s portions of the race are the road bike (18 miles) and open water paddle (4 miles). We have a .5 mile Team Trek to the finish line at Boundary Bay Brewery. It’s a really fun race, but I’ve never done more than one leg of the six leg relay.

Today I did a one way solo run from my office to downtown Bellingham. After lunch I biked back to the office.

Russia calls Georgia a virtual project

Today the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, called the democratically elected leaders of Georgia a “special project of the United States”, thereby equating all those Georgian citizens who support their government to a “virtual project.”

“We understand that this current Georgian leadership is a special project of the United States, but one day the United States will have to choose between defending its prestige over a virtual project or real partnership which requires joint action,” Lavrov told reporters.

Note to the media: Stop covering this VIRTUAL news and go back to the REAL news…like the Olympics or John Edwards’ alleged bastard child.
